SUMMER HIGHLIGHTS
Kids hiking challenge
Six ways - one challenge
The Kids Hiking Challenge is the perfect motivation for our little guests to go hiking and discover nature. There are a total of four themed trails and two mountain hikes to master; these will be noted on your hiking challenge pass.
Once you have completed three routes or more, you can hand in the pass at our reception in exchange for a certificate and the medal. Our mascot Lengi comes to visit the children at dinner to hand out the deserved awards.
What to do with children in Saalbach:
- Montelino's adventure trail
In Saalbach Hinterglemm, the story of the clown Montelino, who lost his smile, awaits families. How this happened can only be briefly revealed here: The little clown neglected his friends and toys - so one day all his friends had disappeared and his toy box was empty. Then the little clown became terribly sad and lost his smile. Now the help of all children is urgently needed! The Kohlmaisbahn takes you up to the Kohlmais summit - that's where the adventure begins. Equipped with a game pass, which the children receive at the valley station, they follow the clever owl and go in search of the friends and toys of the little clown Montelino.
- Mountain Kodok
The clown Montelino is the “good soul” of the mountain and ensures happiness, joy and good weather with his magical hat. But the dark goblin Kodok stole his hat from the clown and hid it well in a secret place. Only with a good deal of courage can the children manage to solve the ten puzzles, crack the code to the secret magic word, defeat the goblin and win back the hat. The courageous goblin hunters receive an adventure pass at the ticket office of the Reiterkogelbahn valley station, in which the solution signs that provide the puzzles and games along the adventure path are entered. Then we take the Reiterkogelbahn up the mountain. There, a 3.5 km long circular hiking trail takes young hikers into the magical fantasy world of the goblin Kodok.
- Devil's water
A “magical” world all about the element of water. The valley end-Devil`s water is a spacious theme park with many play and wellness stations. There is a Kneipp pool as well as a fish pond, forest playhouse, mill wheel, rock pool, cave path, alpine herb path as well as stone dragon place, fairies and dwarf kingdom.
- Schnitza's Wooden park
“Back to the roots” is the motto at Schnitza’s wooden park! How many children have forgotten how easy it can be to play with natural materials thanks to Playstation and X-Box? In Schnitza’s Wood Park, creativity and a sense of adventure are encouraged, your eyes are opened to nature and you also need a bit of courage at the play stations.
- Water park Käpt'n Hook
The Käpt’n Hook water park offers a water area of 1,000 m² with a water slide, wild water canal, massage jets and gargoyles. In addition, young and old get their money's worth with a wide and tube slide, a beach volleyball court and a Kneipp cold water system.
- Mini golf in Hinterglemm
Hole in one? In the middle of the Hinterglemm family park is located
the mini golf course.
- Family park Hinterglemm

The summit playground at the Schattberg X-press mountain station guarantees lots of action and fun for the whole family with various play equipment such as a double cable car, slope slide, pendulum swing, motor skills system and a rope jungle. There are also comfortable hammocks and seating areas where you can sunbathe and relax.

You can now even kitesurf in Saalbach - but only at the kitesurf simulator - one of the stations on the motor skills path. The motor skills trail is part of the Kids Hiking Challenge.
